The Mammoth Lakes Police Department Honor Guard functions as ambassadors for the Mammoth Lakes Police Department and the Town of Mammoth Lakes. The Honor Guard presents the nation's colors at many events such as the Fourth of July parade, the Heroes luncheon, the Mule Days parade and many other local events. The Mammoth Lakes Police Department Honor Guard works alongside the Mammoth Lakes Fire Department Honor Guard for many events forming a joint Honor Guard.

Honor Guard Officers serve as liaisons for the Town of Mammoth Lakes while attending funeral services for Officers killed in the line of duty. The Honor Guard participates in the annual California Peace Officer’s Memorial Services held in Sacramento with the goal of attending the National Peace Officer's Memorial Services held in Washington D.C. in May of each year.

The Mammoth Lakes Police Department Honor Guard has been continually recognized for its outstanding efforts, the distinctive uniforms and the outstanding performances adding to the quality of many events.

The Honor Guard’s current members are Officers Tim Smalley, Dan Casabian, David Scobie and Art Torres under the direction of Officer Ron Gladding.
